10 things you might not guess about me

1. I don't like bright lights. It's true. Overhead lights, fluorescent lights, flashing lights; I hate them all. I don't mind candle light, or a small, dim reading light next to my bed.

2. I do not like loud noises. I know, hard to believe as loud as I am. But, it is true. I can't stand to hear the tv blaring. Don't like the radio up too loud, and I don't like loud speaking voices, especially in confined spaces.

3. I don't like cartoons. Never have, never will. (Minus the occasional Family Guy episodes. They are tolerable in very small doses.)

4. I rarely use recipes when I cook. Nor do I use measuring cups much anymore.

5. I am the only person in my family to have asthma, and the only one who has never been a smoker. Strange?

6. The first time I got behind the wheel of a car, the day I got my permit, I hit a parked car. Never took driver's education because my parents thought I was smart. Waited until my senior year to get my driver's license after my ex-boyfriend's mom taught me how to drive. Thank you Nancy.

7. I remember seeing Leontyne Price sing in Indianapolis in elementary school and knowing that I wanted to sing opera and feel music the way she did.

8. I wish I could have had 100 kids. I am still young, who knows?

9. I think My mom is the strongest person I know and I hope I can be half the woman she is.

10. As much as I love life, I can't wait to be with Jesus and really start living. All in due time.

  1. I was going to put my own list on my xanga, but I figured the two people that read it, my two best friends would already know these things about me. So, you just get an extremely long comment to read. 10 things you might not guess about me...

    1. I'm too much a creature of habit. I can't stand something being off in my daily schedule. People throwing in last minute meetings, last minute cancellations, etc drives me insane! I also eat the same thing for lunch everyday: a chicken ceasar salad.

    2. There is nothing I hate more than when people hate through the bible. This being...people using the bible to preach to people about what they are doing wrong. The bible is meant to be something to self reflect, not reflect on other people.

    3. I don't really like college, in general. I love the friends I have, I enjoy my classes to a point. And, because my ultimate passion is to teach, I know that I need to get this degree. I just feel like going to college for four years is a waste of time, money, and energy that I could put into helping to feed people, etc.

    4. I miss my two best friends more than anything. I can't find the same level of friendship at school. My best friends know everything about me and I just can't share a lot of those details with the people here. I'm currently trying to deal with the fact that one of my best friends is going to graduate college this year and move to France...forever.

    5. I have a deep down dream to quit everything I do in life, spend all of my time perfecting the drums, and being a crazy awesome chick drummer in an equally crazy awesome christian rock band.

    6. I don't really like songs with female singers. I don't know why and I don't think I will ever be able to explain it. Probably about 95% of the music I listen to has a male lead singer.

7.I avoid all drama. I think drama is pointless and I have no reason to be involved. Sometimes, I feel a little out of the loop when I don't know what's going on, but I get over that when I see how much happier I am than those around.

    8. I've been counting down to my 21st birthday since I turned 18. Not that it makes any real difference because I've been drinking for years already now. I'm just excited to be able to do it legally. By the way, 61 days.

    9. I hate snow and ice and cold. Yet, I want to call Illinois my home forever.

    10. After college, I intend to move to India for three months through the AIDE program. I'd be living in an orphanage teaching English/just helping out. Want to come with me?

  2. I have to add another one...because it's pretty much like leaving out a piece of my soul...

    11. I'm a sucker for anything musical, especially if it's solely instrumental. My music is probably about half songs with words and half music without words. I think instrumental music is an essential part for opening the creative side of your heart because you have to paint your own picture of what is going on.
